Welcome TrustWORKSHOP: "Europe PubMed Central: a vision from the UKPMC Funders’ Group"
The UKPMC Funders’ Group (UKPMC FG), led by the Wellcome Trust, wish to build on the success of UKPMC and create - with the support of European partners - a single, Europe-wide open access repository for peer-reviewed biomedical research papers - a ’Europe PubMed Central’. This repository would provide the opportunity to improve information retrieval and knowledge discovery, showcase European research outputs, and facilitate the development of new services to meet the needs of European biomedical researchers and their funders.
The purpose of this workshop is to:
- Alert European life sciences research funders to these plans and provide an update on where the planning has reached thus far;
- Discuss how this project could be taken forward and in what timescale;
- Explore how such a repository might be funded.
Audience:
The session is open to any Berlin 7 delegate, though it will be particularly relevant to those delegates from organisations that fund research in the life sciences.
